The New New Thing is a strategic communications advisory firm working with companies on high-level strategy, smart storytelling, and developing powerful relationships. Oh….and we invest too.

We are not an agency. We are not a consultancy

We operate as an extension of the companies we partner with and tailor our services to meet specific needs and goals.

how we do it

Our services supplement rather than replace internal/external communications teams, and are tailored to the specific needs of founders and their companies. As those needs change over time, we work collaboratively to optimize all opportunities.

Meet Brooke

Brooke Hammerling has spent more than twenty years helping some of the most successful tech entrepreneurs shape their communications strategies. In Silicon Valley, she saw firsthand that founders with complex ideas needed the right messaging to introduce their vision to investors and consumers in a compelling way. Helping companies craft authentic narratives became the mission on which she has built her career.

She is a founder herself. In 2005 she started Brew PR, a pioneering media relations agency that represented some of the most renowned and disruptive tech companies. In 2016, Brew was sold to London-based PR firm Freuds. In January 2020, Brooke launched The New New Thing. She divides her time between New York and Los Angeles.

Meet Rebecca

Rebecca Unger is the Director of Strategy at The New New Thing, working alongside Brooke to spearhead the strategic and creative components of the advisory firm.

Before TNNT, Rebecca ran marketing at Italian concept store 10 Corso Como’s New York location and before that, worked in Corporate Communications for The Howard Hughes Corporation. Rebecca began her career assisting Anna Wintour at Vogue Magazine.

After almost a decade of living in New York, Rebecca re-located to Los Angeles in 2020.
